The History Behind Tudor: Meet Our Founder
Tudor Building Group was founded out of David Tudor’s passion for building, along with the support of his partners. Before diving into this venture, David spent six years as Vice President at Builder Supply Source, LLC, managing single and multi-family cabinet sales. Prior to his VP position, David worked as an institutional equity sales trader for Avondale Partners. These experiences not only gave him a solid foundation in the construction business but also equipped him with the financial tools to compete in today’s ever-changing markets.
Today, David runs and oversees Tudor Building Group, providing clients with exceptional customer service and stunning results. When he’s not working, David enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and flying.

David Tudor
David founded Tudor Building Group in late 2018 with a group of development partners in the Nashville area. He started his career in Investment Banking on the trading desk for Avondale Partners. He then went on to help grow a millwork company in town specializing in Multi Family construction. During those years he started building houses in the greater Nashville area. TBG was founded out of his strong foundations learned in finance and construction to help develop the company that exists today.
Tommy Smith
Tommy has been with Tudor Building Group since 2021 and brings over 30 years of experience in commercial and residential construction. He is in charge of all construction activities throughout the company. Tommy is one of the founding members of Tenant Building Group in Nashville, TN. His most recent role was involved with numerous subdivisions from land planning to closeout. Tommy is an extremely valuable asset to TBG in being successful during every phase of construction.
Virgil Oldham
Virgil has been with Tudor Building Group since 2021 and brings over 30 years experience in infrastructure and utilities. His time has been split between large earth moving/blasting operations and commercial pipeline projects throughout the Midwest. Virgil is fully OSHA certified in all areas of trenching and safety procedures.
Brandon Marvel
Brandon joined Tudor Building Group in 2023. He has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University. Mr. Marvel has had a diverse career in project management across many disciplines from new equipment installation in large manufacturing plants to commercial roofing for universities across Middle Tennessee. His most recent projects, a new custom home build and addition to an existing home in the Nashville area, allow Mr. Marvel the opportunity to work with homeowners in bringing to life their vision of their new home.
Connie Burton
Connie joined Tudor Building Group in 2023 as the lead bookkeeper. Prior to this role, she worked as a personal banker at Wilson Bank and Trust. She is responsible for setting up vendors, processing invoices, and assisting with payments. Connie also maintains vendor documentation for tax purposes.
Jackie Marvel
Jackie embarked on her journey with Tudor Building Group in 2020, stepping into the role of Executive Assistant to the owner. Since then, she has been an integral part of the company’s growth trajectory, donning various hats to contribute to its success alongside David, the owner.
Before her tenure at Tudor Building Group, Jackie spent a remarkable 17 years with a company based in Nashville. In her capacity as an Administrative Assistant, she worked closely with the company’s CPA, honing her skills and expertise in administrative operations. Jackie implemented an accounting system that met the business needs and enhanced operational efficiency by providing reliable financial insight to support decision-making.
